PROJECT «ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WITH SEVERE DISABILITY
IN POVERTY IN B&H»
DURATION: 2006; 2007; 2008;2009;
Beneficiaries: People with severe disabilities in BiH who are living beneath the poverty line.
Project was defined through couple of phases:
- After initial assessment, a direct financial assistance was provided for 100 people with severe disability in poverty in BiH
Visits to beneficiaries
- Finding people who are willing to financially support people with severe disability in poverty in BiH
- Political campaign for passing new legal regulations and systematic solution of problems through the unique social policy in BiH. A number of meetings were held with government representatives.

One of the goals of project ‘Nursing Allowance’ for severely disabled persons in poverty in BiH is raising people’s awareness regarding the problems that people with disability face in their every day lives and the challenges they face trying to overcome these. This theme formed a large part of the documentary ‘It’s still me’ that was co-produced with Refresh, Sumero and Doctors for disabled. The movie theme is about life stories of six young people from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Vlasenica, Mostar and Zenica. The stories are portrayed in a way that gave spectators an insight in these people’s lives and problems they deal everyday, but also to show positive attitude and spirit of these young people toward life. Movie ‘It’s still me’ had its premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

- Mobile services: from September 2007. Training has been conducted for Personal Assistants for beneficiaries for these projects. To date 14 personal assistants have been employed.
